Donuts on a rope contrails

An update to the " Exotic Propulsion Aircraft " page on the Federation of American Scientists web site that was recently brought to my attention provides a new photograph of a "donuts on a rope" contrail, shot on November 10, The "donuts" in the contrails are thought to correspond to the individual detonations that propel the craft. The photos shown here are of the second contrail, which was the more clearly defined of Like asian mail order bride two. The contrails proceeded from east to west. These photos were taken between Pimp my black chick The final photo, taken Donuts on a rope contrails 8: In contraios to maximize contrast, the photo's dynamic range has been expanded to its useful limits, a yellow filter applied, and it has been converted from color to monochrome. Unfortunately, there isn't enough detail to identify the aircraft. However, rppe the specificity of the time and place, FAA Donyts Donuts on a rope contrails should make an identification possible. If Donut does make that identification, I hope they'll leave a comment with the details. First, it seems unlikely to me that a secret aircraft would be flown over a large city in broad daylight, especially twice in one afternoon. Second, I heard no remarkable sounds before, or during, my observation of these contrails. Interpret depeche mode stripped, and most significantly, the photograph of the origin of the contrail shows that the contrail Donuts on a rope contrails as two separate trails, each one presumably from the jet engines on either side of a commercial airliner. I can only speculate that atmospheric conditions, combined with the air turbulence produced by the aircraft, conspired to merge the two trails into one, and to disturb it at regular intervals, perhaps as a wake vortex periodically...

Well, after studying the now famous contrail photographed by Steve Douglass some years ago now, i decided to see if these vapour trails were made just by Secret Aircraft or possibly normal Jet engined aircraft such as Fast Jets and Airliners. After several years i have seen many many vapour trails that resemble the famous trail and some are nearly exactly the same. Below is what i think about the whole 'Donut-on-a-rope' contrail story. When i first saw Steve Douglass' photo of the vapour trail, i was immediately fixed on proving that his trail and many others similar were made just by normal everyday aircraft with jet turbofan engines. I have the same hobby as Steve Douglass, i have been monitoring aircraft for some years and for most of my life i have been a keen Military Aviation enthusiast, lucky enough to see near nearly all of the worlds air arms aircraft flying. I spend hours sitting on top of hills with my scanners and binoculars watching and listening to military aircraft. If i'm not on the hills, i'm at home scanning aswell Like Steve, wherever i go, i take my camera and binoculars with me - just in case - i do something interesting. There have been many times i have seen similar vapour trails to the D-O-A-R trail but have not taken photo's of it A good few times the aircraft making these trails have been Boeing 's coming back and going to the Eastern United States. I live directly under one of the main air-routes to and from the States and England so i see an awful lot of civil jet liners overflying. However recently i have had the brains to start taking photographs of these strange trails made by the jet engines. Within two weeks i...

There are existing photos of this phenomenon and also some scarce information on the web. The SR is somehow known to leave this kind of contrail behind when cruising supersonic. Also, various speculations attribute this kind of contrail to "secret aircraft" like the well-known and dis cu sed-to-death "Project Aurora". My questions are - has this phenomenon been examined thoroughly by scientists, are there any explanations of it? Has it something to do with the "compression lift" concept utilized on a variety of supersonic aircraft? Sun Sep 16, I know the SR used an additive in the fuel to eliminate contrails so it can't be from the engines. So do you mean some kind of visible vortex from the wings? Wed Jul 07, The theory is that it is from the pulse wave detonation engines. Basicly those engines function by injection fuel into a cumbustion chamber and lighting it off and repeating the process to...

Donut on a rope contrails , the physics precludes Aurora? Now if you were to take a picture of an "AURORA" contrail for example immediately afterwards then you probably would see a straight line, but how often does that happen? Since most pictures of alleged "AURORA" contrails are probably taken several minutes, if not more, after the sonic booms are heard one could argue that by that time atmospheric conditions have interacted with the contrail and caused the "donut on a rope" pattern to be visible from ground level. I've seen, heard, and felt this thing. Sitting in my ofice at work bsing with some pilots t the airport, which rarely recieves turbine traffic, we hear a VERY low rumble, and the windows begin to shake. We go goutside to spot the craft, and hear a loud, low, rolling continous sonic boom type of sound. Looking up, we saw the classic "donuts on a rope" from east to west, a bit north of the field and town, out over the desert. We caught the very end of he contrail being formed and whatever it was, it was moving faster than i've ever seen anything move. I don't claim to know, i only claim i saw and heard this contrail being formed. And no, i don't have any pics, never saw it again, but i heard the same sound 2 other times in the same area. One small...

The blog has a letter from the th confirming that B-2s were not in the region at that specific time. If real, that is indeed interesting! I always want to learn. Maybe that is the more mundane explanation. I'm still waiting on "pins and needles" for that " Star Trek " technology called "Warp Drive" I expect I will die before that becomes available WeedWhacker , Mar 29, I just think it's a different point in the flight. Pete Tar , Mar 29, Looks like an F to me. Im not sure either tbh, but just given the pointed shap and swept back wings of the silhouette, it doesnt really fit any other profile I can think of.. If you look at the grey pic you can see that the wings in the color pic are wider and arent swept back at quite as steep an angle. Bill , Mar 29, It is not an X45 because of the at least two engines. Combat environments are a little different, but not all that much, flight plans are public knowledge AFAIK so the aircraft handlers on the ground which is part of what I did as a Radio Operator route the missions around heavily used flight paths to avoid civilian collisions as much as possible.
